Hi, I’m Taneshia Blackwell, the one who keeps the Blackwell Family Home running (this site and our actual home). I’m the wife to Marcus, Jr. and the mom of 2 precious children – Victoria (4) and Marcus, III (1.5) – who keep me going each day.
Atlanta, GA is our home, which is where I am from and where I graduated from Spelman College (c/o 2011). I have an economics degree and was captain of the Morehouse College Maroon Tiger Cheerleading team while there.
I took my love of cheerleading to the pros and became an NFL cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders for 1 season (there’s an interesting story about how I ended up in Cali for a few years), and the home team Atlanta Falcons for 4 seasons (yes, including the abysmal Super Bowl LI).
My passion for sharing transitional home decor, DIY projects, and family fun led me to start this blog. I am going through the process of furnishing and decorating our 4,000+ square foot home and started a YouTube channel to document and share all the fun. I hope you stick around and find some inspiration on this blog in one way or another, and that you’ll consider joining my email list to get notifications when I post a new YouTube video and/or blog post.
